CBT Therapy
Otherwise known as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
CBT therapy helps you to change how you think (Cognitive) and what you do about it (Behavioural)
Unlike other types of therapy, it concentrates on problems and difficulties that you are experiencing in the ‘here and now’.
It is the one of the most effective treatments for Anxiety and Depression.
It is also suitable for helping with issues such as:
- Phobias
- Obsessional Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Panic Attacks
- Post-Traumatic Stress
- Bi-polar Disorder
- Bulimia
It can also help if you are suffering from:
- Anger
- Pain
- Fatigue
- Low Self-Esteem
CBT is treatable by breaking your problem down into small parts so that it is less over-whelming and easier to understand what is happening to you:
A SITUATION…can lead to…THOUGHTS…which become…EMOTIONS…which can show as….PHYSICAL FEELINGS…which can turn into ACTIONS
Each one affects the other, which can create a vicious circle.
By using CBT practices, you can break the cycle.
By looking at the situation in a different way, you can alter the way that you see the problem, which can change your emotions to positive ones rather than negative or self-destructive ones.
With commitment from you, and with the support and guidance from your Counsellor, you can learn how to deal with difficult situations. Meaning it is possible that you can turn your life around to achieve your best outcome.
